Flood Control International's glass flood barriers were featured in a BBC piece in Sidmouth. A test panel of engineered flood glass design to withstand impact loads during storm events was installed at the seafront in Sidmouth as a trial against the coastal shingle thrown up by waves. The next few months will see if the glass is adopted for the entire coastal defence scheme.
This trial, in partnership with the Environment Agency and local government, is set up to see if investment in a significant glass floodwall project would be suitable for the exposed location.
Flood Control International’s design of the marine grade stainless steel framing and the glass itself is ideally suited to seafront locations.
